Hawk is also responsible for managing a mobile fleet of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) for supporting distribution circuits and managing all DERs interconnecting to the Detroit Edison electric system. Hawk is a member of GridApp, a consortium of utilities whose mission is to transition best smart grid technologies and best practices into broader use by member utilities. He is also an Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Advisor on the Energy Storage program, the Electric Transportation program and the industry chair of the Integration of Distributed Renewable program. Hawk was responsible for the EPRI "Best Practices Guide Book for Integration of DER into the Utility System Planning" and "Using Aggregated Distributed Energy resources for Economic Dispatch to an Independent System Operator".

Lisa M. Barton is vice president of Transmission Strategy and Business Development for American Electric Power (AEP). She has 20 years of experience in the energy field, holding various positions in engineering, rates and regulatory affairs, marketing, legal and energy consulting.
In her current position, Barton is responsible for Transmission business planning and analysis, EHV development, business development, asset strategy and planning (for SPP and PJM), and oversight of AEP's interface with its corporate partners. She also serves as president of Electric Transmission America (ETA), a joint venture between AEP and MidAmerican Energy Holding Company. Prior to her current position, she was managing director of Transmission and director of Transmission Planning for AEP.
As director of Transmission Planning, Barton managed activities related to assessing and maintaining the adequacy of AEP's eleven state transmission network which serves more than 5 million people. With transmission assets in three regional reliability regions, her team worked closely with regional transmission organizations and other engineering departments to develop plans to construct new transmission facilities.
Barton joined AEP from Northeast Utilities in Berlin, Connecticut, where she was manager of Transmission Regulations and Compliance.

Commissioner Anne C. Boyle was elected to the Nebraska Public Service Commission, November, 1996, re-elected in 2002 and 2008, and served as Chair from 2002-2004. She is the only woman elected to serve the 100-year-old Commission and currently is the only woman state constitutional officer in Nebraska. She is a member and past President of the Mid-America Regulatory Commissioners (MARC); and a member of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) where she serves on the Board of Directors, Committee on Telecommunications and as Chair of the Committee on Consumer Affairs. Governor Pat Quinn appointed John T. Colgan to the Illinois Commerce Commission effective November 15th, 2009. Prior to his appointment Commissioner Colgan served as the vice president for public policy at the Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies (IACAA). In his position at IACAA, he worked with the Illinois General Assembly and Congress to monitor existing policies and advocate for progressive new policies designed to help low-income people achieve and maintain self-sufficiency. The policy areas that he focused on at IACAA included: energy assistance; affordable energy; asset building; welfare; food assistance programs; affordable housing; and early childhood development. Prior to his current position he was the founding executive director of the Illinois Hunger Coalition where he served for 11.5 years. For more than twenty years he has successfully advocated for the rights and needed resources for Illinois families through the Illinois General Assembly and the U.S. Congress. He is the author of several publications. In addition, he has served on the National Steering Committee of the Campaign to End Childhood Hunger from 1991-2000, and was Chairperson of that steering committee from 1996-1998. He was also the founding President of the Peoria Area Anti-Hunger Coalition, and while working for the Peoria County Community Action Agency (1981-1989) founded the Peoria Area Foodbank (a Second Harvest Foodbank), and established a low-income community gardening cooperative for 100 families.

In 1995, she transferred to Opel in Russelsheim, Germany where she led a joint aerospace/automotive project that involved Hughes, GM, and Opel vehicle design engineers. After seven years in Europe, Gross returned to the U.S. and joined General Motors' Advanced Vehicle Technology programs to work on the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle program.

Commissioner Kevin Gunn was appointed to the Missouri Public Service Commission on March 13, 2008. Prior to his appointment, Gunn was an attorney in St. Louis. In 2000, Commissioner Gunn joined the Gephardt in Congress Committee, working for Democratic Leader Richard A. Gephardt. From January 2003 until January 2005, Commissioner Gunn was chief of staff to Rep. Richard Gephardt overseeing all Congressional operations in Washington D.C. and St. Louis.
