The 150 MW Lost Creek Wind Farm located in DeKalb County is the newest wind energy center in Missouri. The facility is currently under construction and will be in commercial operation by June 2010. The $340 million project was developed by St. Louis based Wind Capital Group and the company will also own and operate the wind plant.

Lost Creek is using 100 of the new GE 1.5xle wind turbines to produce clean renewable energy. The power is being purchased by Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc on a long term agreement.
